Electrician (ORHVS), Kempton Park, East Rand. Company Name: WPM CONSULTING. The incumbent will be responsible for the installation and maintenance of electrical infrastructure and will be required to maintain various plant and project installations according to sound engineering practice and equipment specifications.

Tasks and Responsibilities: Investigate, diagnose and perform trade-related maintenance and repairs to equipment and machinery according to maintenance requirements. Perform inspections following the Mine Health and Safety Act regulations, manufacturing, and Company standards. Report all defects and breakdowns on equipment and machinery to the Foreman. Develop, modify, construct/fabricate and install related equipment required for the safe operation of all engineering equipment. Identify spares requirements and orders according to departmental procedure. Communicate with clients and supervisors on maintenance activities performed and equipment handover. Required to work according to the Mine’s Code of Practice, and report any observations of this not being done. Ensure personal and co-workers’ adherence and compliance to Security and Company’s SHE objectives. Work overtime, do standby, and be available for call-outs should the need arise

Qualifications Minimum Requirements: Qualified Electrician with Trade Certificate at recognized /accredited institution. Valid Public Driver’s License Code EB (08). 5 years experience as an Electrician in a plant/project environment. At least 3 years experience in the maintenance and operation of MV switchgear and distribution transformers. At least 3 years of experience in MV switching with a valid ORHVS certificate. Knowledge of basic protection schemes and metering systems. Should have proven ability to understand MV panel control wiring circuit diagrams. The ability to do fault finding on the MV control panel should be seen as a major advantage. PC Literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Office (MS Word, MS Excel, PowerPoint) and Windows System.

Other Skills / Competencies: Pass Vienna Assessment (Level 2) - (test to be tested on mine). Ability to communicate in English (written & verbal) and one other official language. Planning, leading, and organizational abilities. Independent, proactive thinking, motivated, and have the ability to do own job planning.
