Maintenance Technician (Hydro), Somerset West, Helderberg. Company Name: Latitude Resource. An established Water Purification business based in Strand, Western Cape is seeking to employ a Maintenance Technician responsible for system monitoring and maintenance to ensure that all clients in various industrial and agricultural sectors are serviced according to the appropriate Service Level Agreement.

Salary – R8,000 to R12,000 per month, dependant one experience

Requirements: Min 2 years’ relevant maintenance experience in the similar role, but 2 to 5 years will be ideal. Experience with water pump installations and maintenance will be highly desirable. Ability to perform on-site maintenance activities and tasks, that will include assessing problem areas across – mechanical, electrical, chemical and plumbing. Prioritise work and meet strict deadlines. Able to manage general workers. Structured, methodical approach to problem solving

Motivated and a high performing individual. Must have a valid driver’s licence and own transport. Be able to communicate fluently and professionally in both English and Afrikaans.

Primary Responsibilities: Fully proficient performing troubleshooting, mechanical, chemical, electrical repairs and maintenance of equipment. Act as the second coolant operator and quality control technician by performing quality inspections. Correct hazards within your control and capabilities. Applies high standards of workmanship and craftsmanship. Support equipment uptime and downtime failure analysis. Performs work in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operation manuals and specifications using various tools, measuring and testing instruments.

Provide feedback into the Preventive Maintenance system. Raises issues to minimise cost and quality exposures. Maintains clean and orderly work area, including routine housekeeping and machine cleaning tasks. Performs other miscellaneous duties as required to meet maintenance goals. Problem solving and participate in continuous improvement activities. Communicates effectively with the assigned team and with all support teams. Complete training and personal development in line with business requirements.

Give clear instructions to maintenance general workers to prevent any possible misunderstanding. Perform and document preventive, emergency, corrective, and predictive maintenance activities.
