Senior Accountant - George, Eden

Requirements: B.Com Accounting degree. SAIPA Articles are done at a reputable firm. More than 3 years of experience in an Accounting Firm. Must be up to date with all current and new tax laws. Experienced in SARS and E-Filing.

Must be proficient in: Caseware or DraftWorks, Pastel, Microsoft office, Must be fully bilingual (English & Afrikaans), Must have: Excellent time management skills, organizational skills. Strong Accounting and Taxation knowledge. Must have the ability to record books from insufficient records. Must be able to function in a high-pressure environment.

Duties: Compilation of Annual Financial Statements. Perform bank reconciliations. General Journals, All processing of the books up to Trial Balance & Balance Sheet. Cashbooks, Debtors (full function), Invoicing, Statements, Age analysis, etc, Creditors. Tracking discounts offered on payments. Batching invoices, Recons, etc. Review and submit VAT and payroll calculations. Balance Sheet reconciliations. Foreign exchange transactions.

Disposal of assets: Property, Plant, Equipment, Investments: Calculation of taxation on capital gains/losses Analyze the resulting Trial Balance for errors or deviations and be able to discuss the results with the client Prepare the notes to financial statements Identifying provisions and contingent liabilities

Calculate the tax liability for Sole proprietors, Individuals, CC’s, Trusts. Small business corporations, Farmers, Body Corporates and partnerships, VAT calculations and recons, Compiling monthly management accounts, Complete tax returns, Acquisition of member’s interest/shareholding, Review the monthly files of junior to intermediate accountants. Completion and review of Management representation letters.

Salary: R 25 000 to R 30 000
