An experienced Housekeeping Supervisor position has become available within our clients' organization. As a supervisor, you will oversee staff to ensure that standards are met and work is accomplished in a timely manner.
The housekeeping supervisor will handle the scheduling of staff, which they must perform in a way that remains within budget but also ensures adequate cleaning and turnover of rooms. The housekeeping supervisor is also be expected to enforce standards of cleanliness. They participate in-room cleaning, as well as inspect and review the work performed by housekeepers and laundry workers under their supervision.
Job Requirements: Applicant must ideally have a grade 12, or similar higher qualification. Must be well-spoken in English and have great customer care and communication skills. Position requires strong organizational / time management skills and close attention to detail. Must have the ability to work under pressure, must be able to handle multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Independent judgment is required to plan, prioritize, organize and accomplish a diversified workload. Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and outlook. Problem-solving skills. Excellent people management skills. Clear criminal record.
Summary of responsibilities: Manage and supervise 13 cleaners. Manage the maintenance of cleaning equipment. Order/issuing of stock and cleaning materials. Manage the day-to-day cleaning across the site. Lead, inspect, and direct all housekeeping activities to ensure cleanliness and regular schedules. Keep all documentation, work records, budgets, and payroll for the housekeeping staff. Respond to requests and complaints about rooms, services, and equipment. Maintain room, supply, and linen inventory and computer records.
Setting up of function rooms. Clearing of function rooms. Cleaning of staff canteen. Assisting in the cleaning of restaurant/s. Mixing of Chemicals. Stocktake and ordering of consumables. Managing Laundry and Linen.
