Nursing Sister (Oncology), City Centre, Cape Town. Well known Medical Scheme in Cape Town in need of a Nursing Sister with oncology related treatment experience.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 – 3 years’ experience with the following:

Responsibility: You will be required to assist in the management of all oncology related applications for Scheme funding. Building of professional relationships with doctors, therapists, patients & visitors. Receipt and assessment of all motivations for oncology treatments (chemo and radio therapy) in accordance with the Scheme rules and current protocols. Assessment of applications and motivations for oncology related radiology and pathology tests. Telephonic and written interaction with all members’ providers of oncology services. Active monitoring of the in and out of hospital cases. Reports recording of oncology cases. Maintaining all health, safety and infection control standards.

Good planning and organizing skills that contributes to meeting objectives. The ability to display sound judgment in problem-solving. Delivers comprehensive and quality patient care to meet the health needs of patients. Patient records and registers meet legal requirements. Quality client care principles maintained. Maintains respectful work relationships and interpersonal effectiveness.

Qualifications: Matric or equivalent. B.Cur / Diploma in Nursing. Registration with the South African Nursing Council as a Registered Nurse. Nursing background and experience in oncology management a must. Sound knowledge of current oncology protocols and guidelines. Legislation relating to the provision of oncology benefits.
