Position Summary: Able to demonstrate technical (design) skills
Ability to demonstrate experience of supporting traffic impact studies
Experience in undertaking Highway design for major master-planning in the GCC
Ability to identify the scope of work for the project, produce a scope of work document, and design criteria report that fulfills the project requirements.
Ability to create a QA/QC checking procedures and verification policy to ensure a well-coordinated design.
The candidate to possess full and comprehensive knowledge of Highway design and applicable local and international standards.
Written and verbal communication skills are a must.
Job Responsibilities: Designs and lays out complete systems and components of a Company project with all related facilities including design elements for which there may be no clearly established precedents.
Utilizes good judgment and prior experience, anticipates problems at the outset, and provides solutions.
Prepares highway design criteria, concept design, detail design, tender documents, and associated reports and calculations.
Provide design support during the construction stage.
Leads a highway team, leads the highway design work, and coordinates with other design disciplines.
Coordinates and communicates with the client.
Performs interdisciplinary reviews and provides coordinating data to ensure a compatible design.
Understands and applies company commonly used design standards and methods.
Prepares manpower estimates.
Design of grade-separated interchanges and complex interchanges.
Design of junctions of roundabouts and signalized junctions both horizontally and vertically, and the development of site grading.
Design the Roads in a 3D environment.
Design of road cross-sections and generating earthwork quantities from the 3D model.
Pavement design and pavement design reports.
Be able to prepare the required presentations to clients using PowerPoint or any other applicable software.
Reviews supplier data as required.
Reads supplier manufacturer drawings.
Completes additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Technical Skills:
BEng or MEng in Civil engineering
Minimum of 15 years of experience in the UAE working on public and private sector projects
Approved status with DMT and RTA
