Our Oil & Gas client is currently looking to hire a qualified and dynamic Supply Chain Manager with a proactive and forward thinking attitude. Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Supply Chain Manager is accountable for delivering various forms of value to the Operations and Facility functions for the Plant .Value will be captured through; leadership, strong contracting/negotiation skills, strategic demand planning of key material and service requirements and the maintenance/development of key supplier/contractor relationships, all while adhering to compliance requirements of the company.
Scope of Responsibility
Lead a team of procurement professionals and inventory employees
Support effective and efficient use of controllable annual budgets
Develop supply chain policy and strategies in accordance with overall business objectives and mandates.
Ensure inventory accuracy and working capital goals are met in balance with customer service and order fill targets.
Drive process improvements; investigate gaps in process, determine root causes, document corrective actions, implement required changes and follow up to ensure compliance, reproducibility and reliability.
Communicate product demand schedules to suppliers within agreed lead times, either by way of purchase orders issued to system, identified pricing and terms or on blanket order release schedules.
Work closely with purchasing departments & suppliers to set agreed stocking inventory levels at suppliers to ensure continuity of supply.
Control inventory, drive down losses and maintain the accuracy in recording of inventory and transactions through process; support the management of inventory levels at all locations
Day to day contact with the supply base to maintain awareness of changes to product demand volumes.
Maintain supplier delivery performance records to subjectively measure a supplier’s performance level
Monthly review with procurement department; identify non-conforming suppliers to senior buyers to develop action plans to improve a supplier’s performance.
Direct and coordinate the activities carried out at the sites (as they relate to the Supply Chain department) to ensure that it is integrated consistently with the business goals, objectives and functions so to efficiently address business needs.
Determine planning requirements and priorization of planning activities.
Ensure a continuous flow of material is delivered from the various locations to end use location at the right time for short and long term needs; manage the freight costs associated with logistics of material flow.
Liaise with, and carry out objectives, in accordance with and as described through the Canadian Supply Chain Regional Management Group.
Manage/mentor staff; set appropriate supply policies including safety stocks, product sourcing, and parameters to control demand, scheduling and deployment; develop and communicate clearly defined goals and objectives for team members; ensure that the business plan is well communicated and understood by all; conduct regular business update meetings to keep employees abreast of business results and progress to date.
Managing supply chain immediate and long-range planning; liaising with management peers and operations team.
Qualifications
University degree in Supply chain, Technical, Business, or an equivalency of experience with a technical/college and recognized Professional designation (e.g. SCMP – Supply Chain Management Professional)
Extensive contracts and procurement experience (preferably minimum 6+ years) in operations/project requirements related to manufacturing
2 - 3 years of related Management experience
Relevant awareness and implementation of Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) as well as Quality programs across the entire Supply Chain functions.
Demonstrated success in leading procurement and contracting activities in long term operational services, risk assessments , competitive evaluations and complex negotiation
Demonstrated expertise with MS tools including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Access; JD Edwards ERP system.
Demand forecasting and inventory management experience including application of statistical forecasting / inventory management techniques and demonstrated experience building a consensus demand planning process.
