Job brief: 123NET FIBRE is recruiting for a reliable Billing Administrator to perform tasks that will help us monitor our revenue. You will be responsible for keeping track of money owed to us by customers, preparing data for proforma and invoices, and updating billing-related records.
As a Billing Administrator, you must be accurate and reliable in handling accounts and documents. Being good at math and having a high degree of organizational ability is essential for this post. Since you will be using technology to expedite your work, a degree of computer knowledge is required.
The goal is to contribute to the accurate preparation of bills receivable and safeguard the company’s income.
Responsibilities: Manage account balances to discover outstanding debts or other inconsistencies. Collect all information needed to calculate bills receivable (order amounts, discount rates, etc.) Contact originators of the documents, to resolve questions, inconsistencies, or missing data. Answer phone calls from customers paying bills, questioning charges, or changing service levels. Check the data input in the accounting system to ensure the accuracy of the final bill. Issue customer account statements periodically or whenever necessary. Send reminders for payments and contact customers (email or by phone call) when assigned. Update accounting records with new payments, balances, customer information, etc. in line with POPIA.
Answer questions and handle complaints from irate customers regarding bills. Report on activity to upper management. Requirements and skills. Maintain a clean, courteous, and professional demeanor. Proven experience as a billing clerk or general accounting experience. Adherence to laws and confidentiality guidelines as per POPIA. Proficient in MS Office (especially Excel). Excellent math ability. Ability to maintain attention to detail and a high level of accuracy. Good organizational skills. Excellent communication skills. Strong problem-solving skills. Ability to work under pressure.
Ability to work independently and efficiently to meet deadlines. Matric with a diploma/degree will be a plus. Ability to type 50 WPM. Outstanding interpersonal and presentation skills.
