Junior Accountant, Bookkeeper, Mowbray, Southern Suburbs. Company Name: Edge Personnel. An established and well-known national company based in Woodstock has an excellent opportunity for a Jnr Accountant / Bookkeeper to join their dynamic finance team. Minimum of 2 – 3 years experience.

Responsibility: You will be responsible for but not limited to: Accurate financial record keeping. Bank Management. Monitor Daily Cash balances. Reconciling monthly income statements. Preparation of working papers and financial statements. Check and execute payments daily/weekly/monthly. Assist in managing the year-end, interim, and all month-end processing and reporting. Assist in managing the external audit process. Preparations of weekly cash flow. Manage the debtor’s book, report on outstanding, send statements, etc.

Assist the creditors and debtors’ staff and be back-up when on leave Balance sheet recons. Payroll VAT Cashbook. Compilation of financial statements. Monthly processing. VAT/EMP recons and submissions. Submission of tax returns. Provisional tax calculations and submissions. Personal income tax calculations and submissions. Performing regular bookkeeping duties for cloud-based clients.

Keeping clients regularly updated on their company position in terms of bank balance, outstanding debtors, creditors, etc.

Working practical knowledge relating to VAT and Income tax legislation

Qualifications: Matric/Grade 12 Certificate. Bachelor Degree in B.Com / B.Acc / B.Compt Accounting – Accountant. Qualified Bookkeeper – Certificate / Diploma. 2-3 Years of accounting experience. MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) & Syspro. Good communication skills and ability to work well with a diverse team. Deadline orientated and work well under pressure.
