Child & Family Therapist (Children's Mental Health Services)

The Etobicoke Children’s Centre is an accredited Children’s Mental Health Centre in West Toronto. The Centre is committed to the use of evidence informed practises that are strength based and individualized. Services are inclusive and responsive to the needs of our diverse community. Services may be delivered in the community, in a client’s home and/or in the office.

 

The Centre is seeking a qualified and experienced Child and Family Therapist.

The position requires experience and skills using evidenced based/informed practices with multiple therapeutic modalities that promote optimum child and family functioning and wellness.

 

The successful applicant will possess:

    Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or equivalent and current professional registration in the practise of Psychotherapy.
    Minimum 3 years’ experience in a Children’s Mental Health setting or equivalent.
    Demonstrated skills in a range of evidence based/informed child, youth and family mental health clinical interventions and modalities, including longer term and brief models of service (e.g. Single session and Walk-in services), attachment based interventions and delivery of group services.
    Demonstrated Service Coordination and Case Management experience.
    Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with service providers representing a variety of disciplines including professionals from School Boards, Child Welfare and Health Care.
    Sensitivity to culture and diversity in the workplace and community.
    Excellent inter-personal relationship, organizational and time management skills.
    Excellent communication and writing skills including word processing skills.

 

Use of a vehicle is an asset when providing service in the community.

 

Evening availability (up to two evenings) is required.

The successful candidate must have a current police check, including a vulnerable sector screening.
