We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented General Accountant to join our team. As a General Accountant, you will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records, monitoring accounting and bookeeping quality control, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards for our selected client base.

The ideal candidate should have a strong experience in end-to-end recordal of bookkeeping entries, background in accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and a keen attention to detail. They will report directly to the client staff officer and/or director. The position will require a person that is able to handle pressure, long hours, must be dynamic, energetic and solutions orientated.

The salary is from R 11 500 (monthly), depending on experience and alignment. The position is initially temporary, with an option to convert to contract or permanent.

Proficient in using Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy. Key Duties: Transactional Accounting – Current Cycle. Bookkeeping & Accounting Transactions. Double entry accounting. Appropriate Accruing for Accounting transactions. Validation of source document to General Ledger. Debtors & Creditors Processes. Matching of invoices to statements. Debtors and Creditors Reconciliations. Alignment to Inventory Records. Oversight to bank and cash flows. Month / Year-end Close Processes. Closing entries to accounting records. Processing of month end Journals. 3rd Party Confirmations. Accurate reconciliations of GL. Monitor and analyze financial discrepancies.

Reporting, Periodic reporting, Preparation and finalisation of Trial Balance. Analytical Review of financial numbers and explanations.

Experience: End to End Bookkeeping: from 3 to 5 years. Processing entries, GL to TB: 3 to 5 years. Knowledge working with cloud accounting packages (e.g. Xero, Sage, Zoho, etc). Relevant financial and accounting qualifications.

Proven work experience as a General Accountant or similar role. Location The company is based in Midrand.
