Senior Oracle Analyst Developer - 1 year Contract

Role: Senior Oracle Analyst/Programmer

Our client has an immediate contract requirement for a Senior Oracle analyst/programmer. Applicants must have at least 7 years project experience analysing, designing and implementing complex web orientated financial applications.

Responsibilities:

1.  Development team participation in the design, development, and support of mission critical applications
2.  Development and testing of new application modules as well as enhancements to existing application modules. 3.  Design, develop, and conduct unit test plans for ensuring application code is operating correctly
4.  Development of design and application documentation
5.  Participation in code reviews
6.  The primary objectives of the candidate will be to participate in the analysis, design, development and testing of software to support the business activities
7.  Analyse business and/or systems requirements specifications and develop Oracle Forms, PL/SQL and Oracle Reports application modules to meet those requirements
8.  Analysis of business requirements specifications and the provision of technical design and development services to address the business requirements. This development process will encompass new development as well as existing system processes, procedures, and reports.

Qualifications, Skills & Competencies:

1.  Bachelor or Master’s Degree in Computing or Engineering
2.  Financial sector industry experience, e.g. preferably with familiarity of Front and Back Office operations, typical in a banking environment, and will also ideally have had some exposure to compliance and audit requirements in a controlled financial environment
3.  Oracle Forms & Reports 10gR2 and PL/SQL (database packages and stored procedures), development with 5+ years relevant experience
4.  Knowledge and use of development methodologies, standards and procedures
5.  Understanding of Oracle performance tuning principles
6.  Relational database design skills
7.  Extract, Transform, Load (ETL) concepts and implementation skills
8.  Experience / understanding of software development life cycle
9.  Ability to work with business users
10.  The ability to work in a team and as an individual
11.  The ability to work under pressure and to tight deadline
