Commis Chef, Sandton, Johannesburg. Company Name: The Backyard Catering. Note we are looking for South African Citizens only.

Area: Marlboro – Sandton. Salary – Experience-dependent offering R6800.00 to start, R400.00 pm transport allowance. Three-Month Contract – September to Mid-December. Working Hours:  06h30 – 15h30 - 45 hours p/w.

Note: Overtime to attend evening & weekend events will be required.

A small catering company needs a Commis Chef to work with the canapés / finger food section, but not limited to this and a good knowledge of other sections is required. Very hands-on and must be able to work without too much supervision. 

Assist with the preparation of Finger foods, canapés, etc. Buffet set-ups when required. Preparing or assisting with offsite 3-course plated meals/events. Occasional deliveries to clients, and food set-up.

What will secure this position? Experience in the catering industry is an advantage. Driver’s License. Great food presentation techniques and ideas. Recognized Professional Culinary Diploma. Competent in reading and understanding recipes. No transport problems or issues – live nearby
