Long Haul Truck Driver
Terms of Employment: Permanent, Full Time, Weekend, Day, Night, Evening
Salary: $60,000.00 Yearly for 60 hours per week, Mileage Paid, Medical Benefits, Dental Benefits
Anticipated Start Date: As soon as possible

Education: Not required
Credentials (certificates, licences, memberships, courses, etc.): Driver's Licence (Class 1 or A)
Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years
Type of Trucking and Equipment: Tractor-trailer, Tractor-trailer B train, Flatbed
Type of Travel: Short-haul, Long-haul, Regional, Provincial/territorial
Documentation Knowledge: Driver logbook, Bill of lading, Inspection report (pre-trip, en-route, post-trip), Trans-border documentation, Maintenance and repair reports, Trip reports, Accident or incident reports
Communication Equipment Experience: Citizens band (CB) radio, Cellular phone, Satellite tracking (GPS) equipment
Weight Handling: Up to 23 kg (50 lbs)
Specific Skills: Operate and drive straight or articulated trucks to transport goods and materials, Loading and unloading of goods, Tarping and ensuring safety and security of cargo, Plan travel schedules and routes, Use atlases and other trip planning aids, Receive and relay information to central dispatcher, Oversee condition of vehicle and inspect tires, lights, brakes, cold storage and other equipment, Perform brake adjustments, Perform preventive maintenance, Perform emergency roadside repairs
Additional Skills: Mountain driving expertise, Professionalism in customer service, Handle inquiries from customers
Security and Safety: Driving record check (abstract), Drug test
Own Tools/Equipment: Steel-toed safety boots, Hard hat
Transportation/Travel Information: Willing to travel cross-border, Willing to travel overnight, Valid driver's licence
