We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented General Accountant. You will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records, monitoring accounting and bookkeeping quality control, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards for our selected client base. We require strong experience in end-to-end records of bookkeeping entries, a background in accounting principles, excellent analytical skills, and a keen attention to detail. The salary is from R15 000 (monthly), depending on experience and alignment. The position is initially temporary, with an option to convert to contract or permanent, based on performance.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve discrepancies. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written. Strong organizational and time management skills.

Key Duties are in the following areas (list not exhaustive): Perform other accounting and finance-related tasks as assigned. Transactional Accounting. Current Cycle. Bookkeeping & Accounting Transactions. Double-entry transaction accounting. Appropriate Accruing for Accounting transactions. Validation of source documents to General Ledger entries.

Debtors & Creditors Processes: Matching of invoices to statements. Debtors and Creditors Reconciliations. Alignment to Inventory Records. Confirm linkage and oversight to bank and cash flows. Month / Year-end Close Processes. Closing entries to accounting records and reporting. Month end Journals Accurate reconciliations of the general ledger. Analyse financial data to identify discrepancies and risks.

Transactional Accounting – Non-Current Cycle: Capital Assets & Liabilities Management. Asset register, and alignment to maintenance. Asset additions and disposals, and related profit or loss. Maintenance of depreciation and useful life charges. Maintenance of Long-Term Liabilities. Reporting, Periodic reporting, Accuracy of General Ledger, Preparation of Trial Balance, Tax compliance.

Experience: End to End Bookkeeping to GL and TB level: from 3 to 5 years. Knowledge of working with cloud accounting packages (e.g. Xero, Sage, Zoho, etc.) Understanding of tax submissions: 3 to 5 years. Relevant financial and accounting qualifications. Proven work experience as a General Accountant or similar role.
