Position: The purpose of this position is to deliver occupational therapy services to students to enhance the learning outcomes of adolescent boys with intellectual, learning and / or social emotional needs. Extensive knowledge of various learning disabilities and appropriate specialists that are qualified to address these disabilities is required.

Key Responsibilities: To utilise existing occupational therapy models of practice to inform, direct and deliver occupational therapy services within an educational setting. Tailor individual sensory and motor supports for students. Provide direct support to students addressing physical/social/emotional needs. Coordinating and delivering key responsibilities of occupational therapy outside of classrooms.

Skills, Competencies & Qualifications:

Essential requirements: Relevant tertiary qualifications. Registration as an occupational therapist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). Have a valid and current Working with Children Check clearance. Have a commitment to Catholic values.

Key Selection Criteria:

The successful applicant will demonstrate evidence of: A capacity to understand and animate Catholic identity, Salesian charism and College values in all aspects of College life. A commitment to Child Safety and the welfare of young people and a strong knowledge and understanding of Child Safety legislation and responsibilities. Demonstrated capacity to work within a collaborative professional team and contribute to the achievements of the team, as well as working independently. Demonstrated ability to envision and create a holistic program of occupational therapeutic supports for a primary school setting, including ability to use initiative, reflective practice and prioritisation to plan and manage caseload. An ability to build rapport and therapeutic relationships with students of varying disabilities. Highly developed communication skills to engage professionally with colleagues, parents/carers and the community.
