About the Role

The Faculty of Engineering and IT (FEIT) is currently recruiting for an Infrastructure and Facilities Officer to join the team on a full-time, continuing basis. The Infrastructure and Facilities Officer works as a key part of the Faculty Technical Resources team by providing a broad range of expert technical building services infrastructure advice as well as support for general facilities management activities for continued daily business operation. The role requires management of facilities across multiple buildings and sites within the UTS FEIT property portfolio.

This role is required to build and maintain strong collaborative relationships across both the Broadway campus and Botany (Tech Lab) sites to support the faculty's operational management and represent the faculty at times in relation to infrastructure matters across the broader university. The role acts as the primary liaison between all Faculty stakeholders and the centralised UTS Property unit, to manage the effective delivery of the full suite of services provided by them.

The Infrastructure and Facilities Officer will work closely with the Faculty Technical Resources Project Officer and senior staff across the university as required, to deliver a variety of major infrastructure and facilities projects, manage completion of these projects from a client perspective, monitor completion of preventative maintenance and defect remediation during the Defect and Liability Period (DLP) and ensure a smooth transition into BAU operational use.  The incumbent will apply strategic forethought for the planning of future infrastructure and space needs of this complex faculty and in conjunction with the Project Officer to oversee the relocation activities of Faculty stakeholders between allocated facilities.

As the ideal candidate, you will possess: Experience and knowledge leading facilities management in a tertiary institution or a relevant industry. Broad understanding of all aspects of facilities management including operational support for; maintenance, cleaning, security, compliance, logistics as well as the strategic planning for futureproof construction of new facilities. Demonstrated ability to manage a number of significant and diverse infrastructure projects over an extended period of time. Ability to influence and drive change for process improvement for services offered by central business units of the university - including the ability to manage/influence senior management across the university. Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills, including the ability to develop and sustain cooperative working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders through effective consultation and communication.

Remuneration Base Salary Range: $113,282 to $129,017 pa (HEW 8). This role attracts 17% superannuation (pension) in addition to the base salary.
