The Position

A casual employee position is currently available at our Parkville clinic for approximately 11.5 hours a week to work with our nursing home clients.

Your working hours will be: Thursdays: 8.45am to 5.00pm. Fridays: 12.45pm to 5.00pm. Renumeration is based on the Health Professionals and Support Services Award 2020.  This role will also include long service leave accrual and 25% leave loading (already applied in advertised rate). 

We are looking for a Remedial Massage Therapist or Myotherapist with a clinical focus, ideally with 1-2 years’ experience.

The Role

You will work alongside the Director of the business at our Parkville clinic and your main role will be to provide massage therapy services to the adjacent nursing home.

You will have access to patient clinical notes and will have time to review progress notes for each of our customers, prior to providing massage therapy services.

You will possess the skills to connect with people to help them improve their quality of life.  Your clinical reasoning skills will ensure that you can match your treatment techniques to each individual's needs with consideration of each person's complex health history.

You'll thrive working in a team environment, with excellent communication skills and a passion for helping people feel better. Clinical note taking will be important to you.  You'll possess excellent written communication skills to record treatment notes. You will be familiar with working with Word/Excel/Outlook and are quick to learn other applications needed for his role including our booking system and MYOB.

Get paid for all of your time when at work.

You will be paid for all of the hours you work and not just the treatments you give.  We will also pay for you to arrive 15mins prior to your shift commencing so you can prepare for the day.  We never expect you to work for free.

Successful Candidates

Must have: Clinical approach and impeccable treatment notes. Commitment to preparing for each treatment based on client's needs. Excellent communication skills – confident to speak with clients, family members or prospective clients. Computer literate to record patient notes, raise invoices, view business documents and use email. Ability to relate to all age groups and backgrounds. Team player - happy to share ideas, supportive of constant improvement and you take responsibility for your actions. Experience in Oncology massage, Lymphatic drainage massage and/or previously working with elderly clients would be highly regarded.

Qualifications: Diploma of Remedial Massage, Advanced Diploma of Remedial Massage or Bachelor of Health Science Myotherapy. Comprehensive insurance to the value of 10 million dollars for personal indemnity and public and product liability. Senior First Aid. A member of Massage and Myotherapy Australia or similar association. Willing to provide a police check. 1-2 years industry experience desirable. Eligible for health fund provider numbers.
