Reporting to the Manager, Government Affairs & Strategic Communications, the Digital Communications Specialist is responsible for building awareness, monitoring and supporting the Port’s long-term corporate objectives and initiatives through digital media. The position recommends and implements digital marketing and social media efforts through technology, and other related activities as required. You will be responsible for:
• Daily operation and programming of Canada's Storyboard, touch screen kiosks and social media accounts.
• Administering the Canada Place corporate brand web supplier and website and support PMV website.
• Coordinating the procedure and system for website maintenance by multiple staff members.
• Overseeing PMV online and digital engagement assets.
• Assist in the development and implementation of the corporate digital marketing objectives.
• Sourcing or creating content for social media and online (blog) publishing.
• Maintaining editorial vision for social media publishing by staff.
• Developing and administering Mobile App, maintaining and updating content in a timely fashion.
• Coordinating digital content onsite at Canada Place to support experiences.
• Monitoring and identifying issues on social media.
• Supporting the Communications & Government Affairs team in events, on site experiences, marketing, communications and public affairs as required.
• Producing graphic design materials as required.
• Creating and maintaining key industry relationships.
• Other duties and responsibilities as required.
Completion of a two-year full-time diploma in Communications or Web-based Communications, along with a minimum of three years experience in digital media, including the development and maintenance of websites, web content, and media relations. A strong understanding of website and graphic design principles and experience working with Microsoft office suite of tools, Photoshop, CRM and social media tools.
