Financial Accountant, Jungheinrich New Zealand Limited. East Tamaki, Auckland. Financial Accounting & Reporting (Accounting). Full time. $60,000 – $70,000 per year. About the role: The Financial Accountant position is responsible for the hands on day-to-day financial accounting activities, administration and business support for the Company. Reporting to the General Manager Finance & Administration, you will predominantly focus on the preparation and presentation of financial data for internal and external reporting and key stakeholders.
Core tasks: Assist in the preparation of all monthly and annual financial accounts of the company including statistical returns for internal and external reporting and any other financial reports on a consolidated basis. Reconciling the company’s bank statements and bookkeeping ledgers. Completing analysis and recording of the employee expenditures. Managing income and expenditure accounts. Generating the company’s financial reports using income and expenditure data. Keeping a check on the company’s finances based on financial status. Filing PAYE/ GST/FBT Returns and remitting taxes and other financial obligations. Keeping an eye on incoming payments from accounts receivable and outgoing payments from accounts payable.
Payroll and Monitoring Employee Time Offs. Record and reconcile Intercompany transactions. Reconciliation of the general ledger, trial balance and oversee monthly finance repayments. Management of assets and finance schedules. Assist in annual planning & forecasting procedures. Integral part of ERP maintenance and enhancement. Achieve excellent cash management. Carry out ad-hoc process improvement projects including review of internal accounting policies and standards.
Core Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills across all levels of the organization. Can-do attitude and ability to multi-task. Excellent organisation and time management skills. Experience in fast-paced environment with deadline driven tasks. Strong commitment to teamwork and solution-orientated approach. Excellent analytic and problem-solving skills and a strong attention to detail.
Qualifications/Experience: Degree qualified. CPA or CA qualified (preferred). Minimum 5 years’ experience (including 1 year in New Zealand). Experience with Microsoft Power BI to develop key metrics and reports (desirable). Experience with accounting software and data entry. Excellent understanding of accounting rules and procedures, including the understanding of IFRS principals & requirements. Advanced knowledge and experience with spreadsheets. Ability to work independently.
Proven experience in a financial setting, displaying outstanding organizational skills with a key emphasis on driving process improvements. Relevant industry experience would also be desirable.
