Snap-on Tools Cranbourne/Western Port is looking for a suitable person to fill the Full Time Permanent Position of Mobile Store Manager – Automotive Tools and Equipment Sales.
Snap-on Tools has been manufacturing and selling the world’s finest mechanical tools since 1920, with mobile stores operating in Australia since 1988. Snap-on Tools Cranbourne/Western Port is an established franchise and has serviced its current territory continuously since 2021. We are looking for an enthusiastic and friendly person preferably with sales experience to join the team.
The Mobile Store has been custom-built to allow the selling of tools and equipment to Automotive, Aviation and Marine workshops and other professional tool users at their workplace on a weekly call cycle. The business services the Cranbourne and Western Port suburbs of Melbourne and is based on the Mornington Peninsula.
The role consists of, but is not limited to: Fast Paced Customer Service in a retail and trade sales environment. Management of customer credit accounts including negotiating payment terms, collecting and reconciling scheduled payments and following up on accounts prior to them becoming past due. Demonstrating and selling a wide range of Hand and Power Tools, Tool Storage and Automotive Diagnostic Equipment. Ordering, Checking in and Merchandising Stock on a weekly basis. Utilising the on-board computer system for sales, stock ordering, and payment transactions. General administrative tasks including daily balances and understanding the weekly reporting. Attending meetings, seminars, conferences as required.
The ideal candidate will have: Exceptional customer service skills with a focus on face to face networking and relationship building. A basic understanding of the uses and applications of a wide range of tools. Highly motivated and enthusiastic, results driven, with a focus on continuous improvement. Automotive, mechanical or engineering trades background would be strongly considered. Trade, door to door or retail sales experience would be strongly considered but is not essential. Physical fitness to a level of being able to climb in and out of a medium sized truck several times a day and be capable of manual handling and lifting tasks upwards of 20kg. Sound computer and numeracy skills, particularly Microsoft Office. MR Medium Rigid Licence and a first aid certificate or the ability to acquire both. The ability to Pass medical and police checks and present a driving history.

Once in the role the applicant will receive in-house training with both the Franchisee and Snap-on Tools Australia in all of the day-to-day activities of operating this business and will become involved in the medium to long term planning of the business.
