St John of God Frankston Rehabilitation Hospital is a 60-bed rehabilitation hospital focused on supporting patients to regain independence and improving their quality of life by offering specialist neurological, cardiac, orthopaedic, movement disorder (including Parkinson's disease), and reconditioning programs to patients from across the Mornington Peninsula and Greater Melbourne areas to improve health and wellbeing.

Your role at St John of God Frankston Hospital

You will ensure the Catering Department provides tasteful, nutritionally balanced meals of a high culinary and hygienic standard to patients and caregivers. You will be responsible for ensuring services are delivered in cost-effective manner and that all Food Safety Guidelines are adhered to.

Position: Closely monitor productivity targets, ensuring the WHPPD targets are achieved in line with correct daily rosters. Liaise with all catering and café caregivers to ensure effective use of resources, caregivers, equipment and facilities. Ensure cost efficiency in the catering department, ensuring compliance with budgetary requirements. Ensure services comply with relevant standards, including Food Safety Regulations and Infection Control Guidelines. Participate and contribute to quality improvement providing a patient-focused service, using Inpatient and Caregiver Surveys to identify and implement strategies to improve service quality.

Conduct regular reviews of patient menu, including discussions with patients. Ensure that all preparation, production and service areas are ready for use at the commencement of each shift and maintained throughout the course of the shift. Provide management, leadership and direction to Production caregivers within the Catering department and Cafe. You will have a Food Safety Supervisor certificate and Certificate in Commercial Cookery. You will demonstrate previous experience in food safety programs and an understanding of HACCP principles.

To be successful, you will demonstrate interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written) necessary to interact effectively with people in a variety of situations and you will have experience in successfully organising and managing catering functions. We can offer you Salary: $66,082 to $67,709 plus 11% superannuation. A full-time permanent position, working 38 hours a week.
