Job Description: We are seeking a highly skilled and interdisciplinary counselor with a profound understanding of how social and psychological factors contribute to building a meaningful life. The ideal candidate will harmoniously integrate the depth of psychoanalytical approach with practical life skills education to support our clients in their journey towards better mental health, wellbeing, and personal growth.
In this role you need to support children, youth, adults and families impacted by family, domestic and sexual violence with flexibility to work across programs depending on skills, experience and service needs. Available roles may include work across the following range of programs:
Life coaching Managing Sexual Assault Support Service program: individual and group interventions working with adult survivors of sexual abuse/assault. Family & Domestic Violence Therapeutic Service: individual and group intervention for women impacted by family and domestic violence. Professional Development & Prevention: the delivery of community-based training for professionals in relation to family, domestic and sexual violence. Women’s Health Counseling: Perinatal Mental Health, grief and mild/Modern mental health individual and group Counseling support for women. group-based support for women impacted by trauma. Managing our welfare projects in terms of neuro, gender and cultural diversities and inclusion.
Key Responsibilities: Collaborate with consumers to identify professional, educational, and employment opportunities by collecting and evaluating pertinent data. Conducting interviews with families, couples, and individuals to seek counselling. Assist in the comprehension and modification of attitudes, expectations, and behaviours to facilitate the development of more effective Interpersonal relationship. Discussing the modification of behaviours, providing alternatives and developing vocational and social rehabilitation programs. Providing of resources to assist clients in securing employment. Conduct in-depth psychoanalytical assessments and interventions. Provide therapy focusing on trauma, self-compassion, and life coaching. Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that address both deep psychological issues and everyday life challenges.
Lead our Education Hub, including organizing and conducting workshops, seminars, and group coaching and therapy sessions. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure holistic care for our clients. Stay updated with the latest research and techniques in the fields of trauma therapy, self-compassionate focus therapy, and life coaching.
Qualifications: degree in counseling, psychotherapy, Social Science, Social work, Education or a related field. Extensive knowledge and experience in gender, cultural diversity, trauma Studies, self-compassion-focused therapy, and life coaching. Proven ability to conduct psychoanalytical investigations intersecting with a practical solution. Strong interdisciplinary background, integrating social and psychological aspects in therapy and training. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Experience in organizing and leading educational workshops and seminars. Speaking Farsi and Dari as well as fluent English. Experienced in working with psychosocial disabilities and recovery coaching and training, including neuro and gender diversities. At least two years of work experience in Australia the related field.
