Retail, reception assistant, and Visual Q Eyecare. South Yarra, Melbourne VIC. Retail Assistants (Retail & Consumer Products). Part time. $25 – $30 per hour. This is a great opportunity for someone looking for a permanent part-time retail/reception role assisting in the running of an optometry practice.

We are seeking a responsible and proactive retail/reception/admin assistant who is passionate about customer service, eyewear fashion, and is looking to take on a new challenge in their career! The successful applicant must be resilient, motivated, adaptable, and confident in working in a retail store.  This is a great opportunity for someone looking for a long-term, stable role with varied and interesting tasks.

To be successful in this role, you will have outstanding communication and customer liaison skills. Possess a great telephone manner. Be professional, mature, and well-presented. Be well organised and have excellent attention to detail. Possess a calm, welcoming, and empathetic nature. Be proficient using Microsoft Office (Outlook and Word) or similar programs. Be able to follow instructions, work independently, and prioritise. Retail experience is preferred but not necessary.

Your responsibilities will include greeting clients. Diary management and booking/confirming appointments. Processing client payments. Managing telephone calls, email communication, and website inquiries. Managing client intake and associated orders for glasses and contact lenses. Assisting clients in choosing frames and minor repairs (training will be provided). Maintaining the presentation of the shop and preparing the consultation room. Entering accounts payable and receivable. Managing frame supply and accessory stock. Assisting the optometrist as required. Other ad hoc duties as required.
