About the role We are currently seeking Care Companions to join our team at our Maddington Aged Care Home. This is a unique opportunity to make a profound impact on our residents' lives by helping them maintain their independence and enjoy the highest quality of life. As a Care Companion, you will provide compassionate personal care, assist with meals, and support daily activities that enhance our residents' well-being. You will create a nurturing home environment, attending to their physical, emotional, and cultural needs with sensitivity and respect. Through your attentive observations and proactive documentation, you will promptly address any changes or concerns, ensuring our residents receive the best possible care.
One part of this role is being proficient in administering medications. Your competence in medication management will ensure that residents receive their medications accurately and safely, significantly contributing to their overall health and well-being. Additionally, you will collaborate with Registered Nurses on clinical matters to ensure a coordinated care approach that addresses the resident as a whole.
About you: Your confidence in your ability to provide exceptional care to our residents will enable you to create a positive and welcoming environment for your team and residents. You will have excellent communication and interpersonal relationship-building skills, supportive nature, and a passion for the aged care industry.
The following experience and qualifications will see you to success in this role: Certificate III/IV in Aged Care (desirable). Medication competency skills. Effective organisation and time management skills. be able to work on your own but also as part of a bigger team. Understanding of your own safety and others in the workplace. Evidence of current influenza and COVID vaccinations. National Police Clearance (issued within the last six months).
