Curatorial Assistant, Sherbrooke Restoration Commission. Location: Sherbrooke, NS. Salary: 21.00 hourly / 70 hours biweekly. Term or contract (ending: 2025-03-21). Full time. 08:30 to 16:00. It starts as soon as 2024-08-26 to 2025-03-21. Languages English. Education Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. Museology/museum studies. Experience: Experience is an asset. Internship.

This position is a paid internship that encourages on-the-job learning and skill development. It is aimed at any candidate who wishes to acquire work experience or explore a career. Work setting, Rural area, heritage or historical site.

Responsibilities: Prepare reports. Assist in the research, handling and storage of artifacts. Assist in the restoration and conservation of artifacts under the direction of a conservator. Classify and assign registration numbers to artifacts and supervise inventory control. Protect and care for cultural artifacts and collections during exhibitions, while in transit and in storage. Experience and specialization. Computer and technology knowledge.

MS Office, MS Excel, Database management, Technical experience, Cataloging, Conservation and restoration, Curatorial assistance, Exhibit preparation, interpretation, and guidance.
