Plant Manager - Automotive
Design Group Staffing, in partnership with a St. Thomas area Auto Parts Manufacturing organization, seeks a dynamic and forward thinking Plant Manager, with strong automotive experience, to lead their team.
Position Summary: The successful incumbent will be responsible for the operations of the plant to meet the company's strategic goals and objectives, as well as fulfilling customer requirements. You will provide direction to the management team, including operations, maintenance, engineering, quality, materials, human resources, health and safety and finance. You are a strong leader who is decisive, capable and a good communicator, as well as one who is able to confidently nurture leadership qualities through employee engagement. Key responsibilities include driving results and plant production to meet customer schedules and delivery, while maintaining the highest quality standards and plant operating efficiency.
Professional Requirements:
- Five to seven plus years of senior leadership experience within an automotive manufacturing environment,
- Engineering Degree, or equivalent post -secondary education in business (or similar) combined with sr. leadership experience; PEng preferred,
- Demonstrate knowledge of business and manufacturing principles, with core strengths in automotive facilities, quality management systems and lean manufacturing initiatives,
- Bring a strong awareness of North American and Global automotive OEM practices for current production, new launches, servicing and aftermarket products,
- Promote open communication, be a strong leader capable of making decisions that support the vision and mission of the company, while maintaining a safe working environment,
- Possess exceptional interpersonal and mentoring skills to build rapport and foster solid working relationships between key stakeholders.
