An opportunity has surfaced at Mermaid Beach SLSC Supporters Club, Merlina's Restaurant for an Assistant Venue Manager. As the Assistant Venue manager, you will play a pivotal hands-on role in supporting the General Manager in the day-to-day operation of this thriving Surf Club.

The ideal applicant will be a proactive individual who is well grounded in the management of hotels, Licensed Clubs, Licensed Restaurants or cafes. The applicant must have extensive experience in the Hospitality Industry, premium customer service background, and understand that we need to lead from the front line “Be respected but not loved.”

You will lead and motivate a diverse team of hospitality professionals, fostering a positive and productive work environment. Strong leadership capabilities with a focus on team building, motivation and staff development.

The Club here at Mermaid is only of a small to medium size and consists of our award-winning restaurant, "Merlina's," Restaurant, Bar, and 24 EGM's with Tab Sports Bar & Keno facilities. This Club is driven by a hands-on approach, with premium customer service being the catalyst.

What you need to bring to the role: RSA & RCG, Approved Managers License (RMLV). Any other relevant certificates. Great Presentation and attention to detail, Written and Oral Communication Skills. Gaming (MAX Gaming knowledge), Data Base (Swift Pos) & Marketing an advantage. Functions and Events Coordination experience. Beer reticulation, stock control, ordering and merchandising experience. Strong planning and organizational skills. Commitment not to just your own progression, but the progression of our team and the business. Lead by example and professionalism.
