Performs a variety of accounting and bookkeeping duties according to established policies and procedures. Maintains contact with staff, vendors and clients and observes confidentiality.

DUTIES:
• Posts customer payments by recording cash, checks, and credit card transactions.
• Posts revenues by verifying and entering transactions.
• Updates receivables by totaling unpaid invoices.
• Verifies validity of account discrepancies by obtaining and investigating information
• Resolves valid or authorized deductions by entering adjusting entries.
• Resolves invalid or unauthorized deductions by following pending deductions procedures.
• Summarizes receivables by maintaining invoice accounts; coordinating monthly transfer to accounts receivable account; verifying totals; preparing report.
• Utilizes computerized accounting software programs to perform duties and responsibilities.
• Organizes and maintains up to date financial records.
• Maintains telephone and personal contact with staff and customers on receivable matters.
• Assists in financial management and analysis, as requested.
• Organizes and maintains retention files for required period of time.
• Basic bookkeeping for small rental properties

REQUIREMENTS:
• 1-3 years of A/R experience and/or Associates Accounting Degree (preferred)
• Basic computer skills and word processing.
• Good mathematical background
• Ability to sort, check, count, and verify numbers
• Ability to multi-task, prioritize and work efficiently
• Ability to listen, communicate (written and verbal), excellent grammar, spelling and proof reading skills and follow-up effectively with all staffing levels and clients/customers.
