Registered Nurse (RN Div 1 Level 1), MCWA. Bundoora, Melbourne VIC. Nursing - Aged Care (Healthcare & Medical). Full time. $38 – $43 per hour based on experience.

ABOUT THE ROLE: MCWA is an in-home aged care provider who is looking for a Registered Nurse to provide clinical services to all MCWA clients. As MCWA's registered nurse you will be responsible for preparing and evaluating our clients to ensure they remain safe and independent at home. This role will work closely with other departments to ensure that the right level of service is being delivered to our clients. Although based at our head office in Bundoora, this role will require you to travel to and from client homes.

Main duties/ responsibilities: Provide nursing services to allocated clients including but are not limited to: management of diabetes, wounds, infections, pain, medications, and personal care. Create, evaluate, and follow the individual nursing care plans. Provide personal care to clients that meet their individual needs. Provide medication assistance and medication administration to clients that meet their individual needs. Provide high quality, comprehensive, evidence-based, client-focused care.

Communicate and collaborate with other staff members. Maintain required documentation in accordance with the relevant standards, legislation, and regulations and the MCWA policies and procedures. In carrying out these responsibilities, ensure actions are consistent with and/or able to assist MCWA to meet the goal of improving the needs of MCWA clients. Support the Clinical Governance Committee.

Skills Requirements: Demonstrate clinical knowledge and skills and constantly improve competence. Demonstrate critical thinking skills. Demonstrated high level of interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively liaise with staff, clients, the community, all service providers and other agencies.

Knowledge/ qualifications: Completed a bachelor’s degree in nursing. Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency as a Registered Nurse in the State of Victoria and holding a current practicing certificate (essential). Registered and a practicing nurse. Satisfactory police check. A current Victorian Driver’s License.

Experience: A minimum of 1 years’ experience. Experience in the aged care sector would be highly regarded.
