Your leadership will enable the team to deliver exceptional support, implement innovative solutions, and continually enhance service standards. Key responsibilities will include: providing leadership, training, mentoring, and support to the Pre-Award team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement. Manage the submission of competitive funding applications, ensuring compliance with university policies and funding body requirements while maintaining data integrity. Collaborate with the Major Initiatives team to develop and curate programmatic grant opportunities, enhancing UQ's strategic positioning in the research funding landscape. Identify and implement process improvements, leveraging feedback and benchmarking to optimise workflows and deliver exceptional support to researchers and stakeholders.

About You: Extensive experience in pre-award grant support, including crafting, editing, and critiquing proposals, and delivering workshops, seminars, and writing guides. Comprehensive knowledge of the Australian higher education sector, its funding opportunities, and the international research funding landscape. Proven ability to manage and lead a team in a service-orientated, customer-focused environment. Demonstrated expertise in improving workflows, enhancing service delivery, and implementing innovative solutions. Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage projects and meet multiple competing deadlines. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships and provide expert advice to diverse stakeholders.
