About St James' Anglican School (St James'). Situated 44 kilometres north of Perth, located in the picturesque beachside suburb of Alkimos, St James' is seeking a suitably qualified education assistant (0.8 FTE) to complement our staffing cohort. St.. James' is a K–12 co-educational independent school of AngliSchools.
About the Role: This is a part-time 0.8 FTE commencing in Term 1, 2025, and will predominantly involve supporting the teaching in the junior school. St. James' welcomes applications from all suitably qualified applicants, from graduates to experienced candidates.
Key responsibilities: Previous experience supporting student learning under the direction of the teacher, and a Cert IV is desirable; however, experienced education assistants are welcome to apply if they hold relevant qualifications.
Key responsibilities include, but are not restricted to: knowing and connecting with junior high school students in a manner according to their identified needs. Work collaboratively with the classroom teachers. Assist teachers in preparing for and delivering lessons.
Skills, knowledge, and attributes: genuine rapport with young people. Proven ability to work collaboratively as part of a team. Adaptable to the needs of students. Open to learning new skills. Positive communication.
Qualifications/Experience: Certificate III or IV in Education Support (essential). Working with Children Check (or the ability to obtain one).
Other: Work collaboratively within a supportive and passionate school. Provide classroom-level support to enable high-quality, student-centered learning. Work with individual students or groups of students as required under the supervision and direction of the class teacher. Promote student confidence, resilience, and independence at all times. Support staff in the preparation of resources to enhance learning activities. Promote student inclusivity.
