Food Technologist. Klein Karoo, Central Karoo. Company Name: Work Africa Recruitment. FOOD TECHNOLOGIST / UNIONDALE / Western Cape. Our client, a leading food and beverage manufacturer, seeks an enthusiastic food technologist to join their dynamic team. This role focuses on maintaining and improving Quality Control and Food Safety Systems (FSSC/GMP/HACCP), enhancing Total Quality Management (TQM), updating FSQMS documentation, and effectively managing the Quality Control team.

Minimum requirements: matric and a diploma or BSc degree in food technology/food science with a passion for food. Must be proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, Outlook, and other related software. 1-2 years of related experience in a food processing facility will be advantageous. Confident and assertive communicator at all levels. Problem solver with strong attention to detail. Motivated by growth and achievement.

Duties and Responsibilities: Ensuring food safety and quality standards are being maintained in the factory. Assist with updating and maintaining quality systems. Accurate trending and scorecards. Effective and punctual customer complaint investigations and feedback. QC tasting, samples, and feedback. Monitoring conformance to the cleaning and sanitation program. Managing QC teams and cleaning teams. Controlling the measuring and monitoring devices. Assisting with technical equipment management.

Assisting with the management of service providers, such as calibration, validation, pest control, laundry, and waste companies. Investigating and closing out non-conformances and trending thereof. Conducting internal and external audits. Conduct training of factory colleagues. Assisting with validation trials. Ensuring Traceability on product and paper is maintained. Allergen and segregation management. NPD—Factory trials, pre-production, launches. Attendance and feedback on NPD trials, secondary RM trials, and product audits. Food defense and reporting of suspicious behavior.
