The iconic Aireys Pub, located along the stunning Great Ocean Road and home to Salt Brewing Company, is seeking a passionate and motivated Duty Manager to join our dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to step into a leadership role with a background in bar and beverage management. As a duty manager, you will spend most of your time working closely with our incredible team and interacting with our loyal customers to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for all.

What We Ask From You: A high level of customer service and hospitality experience. Strong knowledge of liquor licensing legislation and compliance. Proven experience in a similar role with a passion for craft beer, local wines, and other beverages. A hardworking, reliable, and energetic approach to work. Extensive bar experience, including leading service during busy shifts. Strong initiative, excellent time management skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively. Confidence in managing a team, delegating tasks, and running the venue in the absence of the Venue Manager
Creative problem-solving and innovative thinking to enhance the business. An understanding of the importance of cultivating a positive workplace culture. Flexibility and understanding of our seasonal business, with willingness to oversee all aspects of the pub during quieter times/off-seasons. Empathy and professionalism when interacting with a diverse team. Basic knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel. An eagerness to learn and use electronic rostering, order-at-the-table systems, and reservation software. Interest in engaging with our business’s social media platforms. In-depth knowledge of food and the food service process, with strong customer relations experience. A genuine interest in getting involved with the local community. Basic understanding of labor, food, and beverage cost management.
Strong communication skills, particularly with the venue manager, head chef, and owners. A passion for contributing to the successful daily running of the overall business. Sound like you?.
