Position Overview:
As the workshop coordinator, you will play a critical role in ensuring that our service operations run smoothly. You’ll oversee all aspects of the workshop's day-to-day activities, including managing schedules, handling customer service inquiries, and supporting our team of technicians. The ideal candidate will have a passion for customer service, strong organizational skills, and experience in managing workshop or service departments... While this is preferred, we are happy to consider candidates with leadership experience and a strong desire to learn, as we are willing to provide training for the right person.
Key Responsibilities:
Coordinate the daily operations of the workshop, ensuring that all service requests are managed efficiently and completed on time.
Schedule and prioritize work orders, balancing technician workloads to meet customer needs and deadlines.
Act as the primary point of contact for customers, handling inquiries, providing quotes, and updating clients on the status of repairs or services.
Provide over-the-counter and phone customer service, assisting customers with parts, service-related questions, and product recommendations.
Maintain accurate records of work orders, service histories, and customer interactions to ensure smooth follow-ups and operational transparency.
Liaise with parts suppliers to ensure the timely procurement of materials and parts required for repairs.
Monitor and manage workshop inventory, assisting with stock control and ensuring that necessary parts are always available.
Promote and enforce a safe working environment, ensuring compliance with OHS (Occupational Health and Safety) standards and maintaining a clean, safe, and compliant workspace for all team members.
Support and assist technicians with troubleshooting and problem-solving, providing technical guidance when necessary.
Identify opportunities for process improvement, actively contributing to streamlining operations and increasing overall workshop efficiency.
Key Qualifications:
Previous experience in a workshop, service, or similar operations role, preferably in the automotive, machinery, or outdoor power equipment industry.
Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent customer service skills and ability to communicate effectively with both clients and team members.
Basic technical understanding of mowers, ATVs, or motorcycles is an advantage.
Proficiency in using workshop management software or similar systems—training will be provided.
A proactive attitude with the ability to solve problems and think on your feet.
