The Role:

We are seeking a talented and motivated structural/civil engineer to join our Wollongong team in a full-time role. The role provides an exciting opportunity to oversee projects from initial concept through to final development and construction of a wide variety of projects, including multi-story residential and commercial buildings, industrial structures, educational buildings, and public and recreational projects.

The successful applicant will use their experience and technical ability to complete engineering analysis and design as well as liaise with clients, contractors, and other project stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of all project types.

Key Responsibilities:

Being involved with innovative structural/civil design solutions for a range of projects.

Collaborate closely with architects, builders, and consultants to ensure designs meet project goals, addressing any queries or requests for information promptly.

Contribute to a fast-paced environment, balancing multiple projects at a time.

Deliver value-managed designs that prioritize efficiency and cost-effectiveness without compromising on quality.

Take a hands-on approach with site visits.

Assist the team with drafting on AutoCAD as needed, particularly when deadlines are approaching. While we have in-house draftspersons, engineers may be required to support drafting efforts during peak times.

What We’re Looking For:

A Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering (Structural/Civil)

Minimum 3 years of experience in Structural/Civil Engineering, working within a Consulting Engineering Firm

Experience designing steel structures, reinforced concrete structures, post-tensioned slabs, and timber design.

Up to date with relevant codes and Australian standards.

Experience in reading structural plans and applying them on-site during inspections to ensure accuracy, compliance, and proper execution of design specifications.

Proficiency in design software (i.e., RAM Concept, RAPT, Tekla Structural Designer, TEDDS, STAADPro, AutoCAD).

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Excellent interpersonal skills to interact effectively with clients, contractors, and the team.

Excellent time management and organizational skills.

Strong understanding of engineering analysis and design principles.

Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Registered vehicle and full driver's license for the purpose of attending site inspections.
