About us:
We are Helen Walker Occupational Therapy (HWOT), a small and friendly mobile disability services provider operating in South Brisbane and Redland City areas. We provide Occupational Therapy and Social Work services to clients from newborn through to retirement and beyond, with a diverse range of backgrounds, disabilities, trauma experiences and health conditions.
We focus on creating a safe space for our clients, families and their networks to feel seen, validated, valued and supported; creating a place where everyone belongs. The absolute same is said for our team and culture and for each and every one of our team members.
Our owner is an Occupational Therapist and leads the team with heart and a deep understanding of what OT truly is. Connection, relationship building and collaboration are at the very essence of what we do, how we deliver services and how we nurture our clients and our staff.
We respect and celebrate the diversity of our communities, including people of all cultural and faith backgrounds, classes, gender or sexual identities, neurodiversity, ages and abilities and we are committed to creating a safe and welcoming space for all.
HWOT are dedicated to delivering authentic and personalised services and truly respect and support the journey of clients and their loved ones. We’re looking for an OT who aligns with our working ethos, style and values to contribute and be a part of our pathway forwards.
About you:
You’re a compassionate and driven Occupational Therapist with a minimum 1 years’ experience. You thrive on empowering and engaging with clients and their families to grow within themselves and their environments, fostering real relationships, forging genuine connections and delivering care to meet your clients where they are at.
You enjoy variety in your day, working across diverse caseloads (personalised to your preferences) and environments, and you’re confident managing your time effectively. You value collaboration, but you’re also self-motivated and capable of working independently while upholding the highest standards of professionalism and quality of care. You’re looking for a role where you can work autonomously but also have team connections, deep career development and full, responsive support available.
You’re skilled (or learning skills) in conducting assessments, developing personalised therapy plans, and have a keen interest in a mix of delivering assessments/reports and ongoing capacity building/rehabilitation interventions. Most importantly, you’re able to collaborate and work with full care teams and other providers involved in your clients’ care, to optimise the best possible outcomes.
You’re looking for an organisation that will see you as a whole human and value your input, your work, your professional development, YOU.
If you’re looking for space and support to breathe, grow, develop and thrive within your work, we would love to hear from you!
