Royal North Shore Hospital
6D is a 30-bed cardiology ward, including 6 coronary care beds. The unit offers a structured learning environment, career development opportunities, and a friendly, supportive team.
What you'll be doing
The clinical nurse educator will be guided by the nurse unit manager and clinical nurse consultant in leading, developing, coordinating, and implementing all structured learning for nurses within NSLHD.
The clinical nurse educator will provide clinical teaching, orientation, skill accreditation, and professional development support for all nursing staff and students.
The clinical nurse educator will have a role in the provision of hospital orientation and mandatory training. They will also be expected to teach courses appropriate to nursing within and at facilities external to NSLHD.
The clinical nurse educator will participate in the development and teaching of the NSLHD Nursing Professional Development Program (this includes traveling to other sites within the LHD for lecturing and facilitation of workshops).

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
Holds AHPRA registration as a registered nurse AND holds relevant clinical or education post-registration qualifications or such education and clinical experience deemed appropriate by the employer.
Demonstrated effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
Demonstrated ability to practice safe nursing care and knowledge of policies and clinical practice guidelines.
Demonstrated commitment to evidence-based practice, continuous quality improvement, and risk management.
