Hobart, TAS

Management & Change Consulting (Consulting & Strategy)

Government - State (Government & Defence)

Full time

$139,470 to $148,863 per annum

The Department of Health is seeking a highly skilled senior change manager to support transformational workforce reform, with a key focus on contemporizing rostering practices across the agency.

This is your opportunity to provide your change management expertise and leadership to support the delivery of a key strategic project for our agency. The program is taking a two-step approach to improving rostering practices:

Process harmonisation and standardization—to enable consistent and contemporary rostering practices across the Agency

Adoption of digital solutions—to support automation to support our frontline teams and readying for an HRIS implementation

We are in search of someone who thrives on complexity and enjoys the mastery of bringing people along on the change journey.

The Role:

You will play a key role in providing change management leadership to support people-related reform initiatives, in particular driving the transformation in contemporizing rostering and workforce practices across the agency.

Accountable to the program director, you will take the lead in designing and delivering strategic change management activities that support the rollout of contemporary rostering practices across the agency. This is a high-impact role where your work will directly support frontline teams and help drive lasting organizational improvement.

In this role, you will:

Lead the development and delivery of change strategies and activities to support improved rostering systems and practices.

Build a tailored change management framework to support the rostering program, including the development and implementation of a change strategy, stakeholder analysis, impact assessments, and internal communications.

Provide expert guidance on training and capability-building to support adoption and long-term success.

Coach and support senior leaders and key stakeholders, offering specialist advice on how to embed our rostering changes effectively across the organization.

This is more than just a project. It is a significant change journey for the department, and we are in search of someone who can guide and support our people through it. You’ll be working closely with a committed team to support the change towards contemporary rostering practices, including rostering system uplifts and rostering practices, and driving sustainable change to help our workforce feel confident and ready for what is ahead.

Bring your skills and experience as a senior change manager and build on your career at the largest department in the state service, where you will directly impact the health and well-being of all in Tasmania.
