About the role

Curtin University is seeking a project manager (clinical psychologist) to lead the development, coordination, and implementation of low-intensity psychological intervention (LIPI) packages for primary care mental health practitioners across Western Australia.

This project is funded by the Western Australian Primary Health Alliance (WAPHA), and the position is a fixed-term contract (10 months), part-time (0.6 FTE).

The role requires effective project planning and governance throughout the project lifecycle. You will collaborate closely with the project lead as well as staff from the postgraduate psychology team at Curtin University, WAPHA, consumers, and general practitioners.

Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

Oversee all phases of assigned projects, from initiation to close-out, utilizing appropriate methodologies to achieve defined outcomes.

Develop and document business cases, project plans, timelines, and communication strategies while ensuring stakeholder engagement.

Manage project resources, including personnel and third-party services, and identify and mitigate risks throughout the project lifecycle.

Maintain strong communication with the project team and stakeholders, produce confidential reports, and facilitate meetings.

Collaborate with the project team to create psychological intervention resources focused on anxiety, depression, sleep, parenting skills, and emotion regulation.

Who we are looking for - Selection Criteria

Postgraduate qualifications in a Master of Professional Practice or a Master of Clinical Psychology or extensive relevant project management experience and expertise, or an equivalent combination of relevant work experience and/or education/training.

Experience developing psychotherapeutic resources based on evidence-based interventions.

Proven project management skills with a track record of delivering outcomes within budget and resource constraints while effectively managing multiple tasks.

Strong interpersonal and communication abilities, enabling effective consultation with diverse stakeholders and the creation of clear project reports.

Experience in leading teams, supervising staff, and exercising sound judgment in decision-making.

Desirable Criteria

Previous experience in a tertiary environment.

A formal certification/accreditation in project management.

Clinical experience working with anxiety, depression, parenting issues, emotion regulation, and/or sleep.

Role Requirements:

As this is a fixed-term contract, you will require current work rights in Australia that match the tenure of this role.
