About the role
South West Healthcare (SWH) is seeking an experienced specialist emergency medicine physician to provide clinical leadership and management in our high-quality emergency clinical services.
This role is responsible for providing safe, effective, patient-centered, and responsive care to patients in the emergency department. In this role you will require experience in the broad practice of emergency medicine, including adult medicine, pediatrics, psychiatry, trauma, and the full range of emergencies encountered in various specialties.
We are a regional trauma center, seeing major trauma from roads, farms, and factories. We are supported by a growing number of specialties -O&G, psychiatry, ICU, plastics, orthopedics, and geriatrics—as well as general surgery and medicine. You will manage a wide variety and acuity of patients.
A key part of this role will be assisting the clinical director in providing an appropriate teaching program and ensuring the supervision of clinical practice and training of undergraduates and postgraduates in the emergency department.

What you bring
The successful applicant will have broad experience in the field of emergency medicine and hold suitable qualifications as a medical practitioner registered with AHPRA, be a Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Emergency Physicians, and hold a current registration with the Medical Practitioners Board of Australia. Strong, effective communication, conflict management, and team-building skills are essential to this role, as this will have a positive attitude towards the training of junior medical staff.
The successful applicant will have proficient leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills, as well as developed written and verbal communication skills. Knowledge of SWH's performance indicators and expectations is desirable.
