South West Healthcare (SWH) is the leading acute referral center for the South West Region, home to a Deakin Clinical School, and the region's largest employer. We are offering an outstanding opportunity for a salaried specialist anesthetist to join our dedicated team.

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled, team-oriented, and enthusiastic specialist anesthetist to provide high-quality clinical and non-clinical services at SWH. This role allows you to develop your areas of interest within anesthesia, including ICU, perioperative medicine, pain management, and quality improvement.

As part of a collaborative team of salaried and VMO specialists, you will play a key role in expanding and enhancing anesthetic services at SWH.

Position Overview

Permanent, full-time role hours per fortnight

What You Bring

AHPRA registration as a medical practitioner

Fellowship of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (FANZCA) or an equivalent specialist qualification

Extensive experience in anaesthesia, ensuring confident practice in a regional setting

A commitment to quality improvement and best practice in anaesthesia

Strong communication, conflict resolution, and team-building skills

Experience in training and mentoring junior medical staff
