The Embassy of Finland in Canberra is looking for a full-time Catering and Housekeeping Attendant from 1 September 2025, or as agreed, for a fixed-term contract until 31 May 2026. The sites of work will be the Residence of the Ambassador of Finland as well as the Embassy of Finland Chancellery.
The main duties will include cleaning and general housekeeping, preparing breakfast and coffee meetings, other basic kitchen tasks, and supporting the organization of events, lunches, and dinners, including liaising with service providers.
The position is full-time, 36.25 hours per week. The work takes place primarily within regular office hours. Some events may require occasional flexibility in working times.
The applicants should have a valid working permit in Australia. The embassy does not sponsor a visa for this position. (Terms and conditions of the employment in this position are of locally employed employees and are in accordance with Australian law.)
Key responsibilities:
Cleaning tasks
General and varied housekeeping duties
Preparing and serving breakfasts and coffees
Supporting in organizing events, lunches and dinners, including liaising with service providers
Other tasks assigned by the Ambassador
Skills and experience:
Appropriate qualifications and equivalent experience
Able to communicate in English
