We’re seeking an experienced EL1/EL2 technical project manager to lead the delivery of a complex physical security infrastructure upgrade. This role is ideal for someone with a background in managing large-scale access control projects, deep knowledge of security compliance standards, and strong stakeholder engagement skills.

Contract Duration: Initial term of 12 months, with potential for extension

Responsibilities
As the technical project manager, you will:
Lead the end-to-end delivery of a physical security and access control upgrade project
Manage all phases of the project: Initiation, Design and Documentation, Delivery, Handover/Takeover (HOTO), and Defects Liability Period (DLP)
Liaise with stakeholders, consultants, contractors, and governance teams to ensure project alignment
Ensure compliance with relevant security policies and legislation, including PSPF, SCEC, WHS, and NCC
Oversee procurement of contractors and specialist consultants
Monitor project scope, budgets, timelines, and risks, taking corrective actions where needed
Prepare and manage all project documentation, including risk plans, communication logs, and change control records
Review and validate design and engineering documentation, drawings, and “as built” documents
Ensure quality standards and project deliverables are met within approved frameworks
Support fit-out works and manage site-based coordination as required
Provide regular reporting to key stakeholders on project progress, risks, and milestones
Document lessons learned and support a smooth project handover
Your Profile
To be considered for this role, you must meet the following criteria:
Minimum NV2 Security Clearance (Active)—This is a strict requirement; candidates without this clearance will not be considered
Demonstrated experience in managing technical or physical security infrastructure projects
Strong working knowledge of the Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF) and SCEC requirements
Experience reviewing and managing construction and security upgrade designs and documentation
Proven ability to engage with stakeholders, manage contractors, and deliver complex projects on time and within budget
Proficient in project planning, budgeting, risk management, and reporting
Experience working with access control systems (e.g., Gallagher EACS) is highly desirable
Willingness to undertake site visits and oversee project works as needed
Exceptional communication and documentation skills
