Training & Outdoor Programs Coordinator
Hobart-based | Full-time or part-time | Salary based on experience
At Surf Life Saving Tasmania (SLST), we do more than save lives on the beach—we educate, lead, and support safety and resilience across the state. Our Commercial Services team delivers accredited training and outdoor programs that make a difference in the community and contribute to the sustainability of our lifesaving services.
We’re looking for someone who enjoys coordinating people and programs, thrives on making things happen, and has the skills (or potential) to support the delivery of training or outdoor activities.
About the role
This is a hands-on, people-focused position. You’ll work closely with the Commercial Services Manager to coordinate and deliver a range of programs—from training courses to outdoor activities and events.
Some days you'll be in the office, coordinating clients, resources, and logistics. On others, you'll be in the field supporting or leading programs or training - depending on your experience and qualifications.
You’ll play a key role in keeping things running smoothly—making sure the right people and equipment are in the right place, liaising with clients and colleagues, and helping improve the way we work.
You might be the right fit if you:
Communicate clearly and professionally with a wide range of people
Are highly organised and comfortable juggling logistics, admin and hands-on tasks
Have experience, or a strong interest in training, outdoor programs, or events
Are looking for meaningful work in a values-driven organisation with real community impact
Whether you’re already working in outdoor education, training, or tourism—or you're looking to get started in the industry with strong customer service and coordination skills—we’d love to hear from you.
What we offer
A varied and flexible role in a purpose-led organisation
A supportive, friendly team that values initiative and collaboration
Opportunities to grow your skills across training, outdoor recreation, and coordination
Salary aligned with experience and the Sporting Organisations Award 2020
Work that contributes to drowning prevention and community safety across Tasmania
