You’ll be an experienced payroll officer keen to work as part of a larger team on pay runs, initiatives supporting our continuous improvement, and payroll projects.

You’ll be passionate about delivering excellent customer service and proactively responding to payroll inquiries and discrepancies.

What can you expect to be doing?

As our payroll officer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our employees are paid accurately and on time, enabling them to focus on their essential work.

Your responsibilities will include:

Processing and delivering timely and accurate payroll services in line with business and legislative requirements.

Working as a team to complete a fortnightly pay run.

Managing and maintaining the payroll system and operations according to policies, procedures, and relevant legislation.

Resolving payroll inquiries and discrepancies, including correction pays and escalation when necessary.

Preparing and calculating payroll-related taxes, work cover calculations, deductions, and other payments.

Onboarding new starters into payroll, ensuring accurate information and paperwork are received.

Contributing to the review, update, and testing of payroll processes, guidelines, and systems.

What do you need to bring?

To be successful in this role, you will need:

Proven proficiency and demonstrated experience in end-to-end payroll processing and assisting with month- and year-end tasks.

High-level data entry and report preparation skills.

Ability to deliver high-level customer service, including managing payroll inquiries and discrepancies.

Analytical skills and attention to detail to identify errors and make corrections.

Capacity to interpret and apply relevant enterprise agreements and industrial awards.

Proficiency in using computers and Microsoft products, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and other payroll packages.

Adaptable, responsive, and enjoy working as part of a team.
