We design and manufacture cutting-edge equipment in our purpose-built facility in Melbourne and supply it to industrial clients worldwide.
We’re looking for a skilled, creative, and motivated industrial design engineer to lead the design and development of new products and parts and support the ongoing evolution of our existing product range. You’ll work hands-on with SolidWorks to create innovative designs, prototypes, and manufacturing-ready documentation, contributing to Hawk’s mission of delivering world-class engineered products and solutions.
This is a full-time, on-site position based at our headquarters in Nunawading, Victoria.
Key Responsibilities
Design, model, prototype, and test industrial products using SolidWorks.
Develop 3D part models and 2D technical drawings for projects, manufacturing, and assembly.
Conduct design reviews, engineering calculations, and testing for compliance and performance.
Prepare and maintain detailed documentation, including BOMs, assembly instructions, and regulatory files.
Work closely with internal engineering, production, sales, and service teams.
Liaise with suppliers and customers for component sourcing and product feedback.
Provide technical expertise and support across the product lifecycle.
What We’re Looking For
Bachelor’s degree or diploma in mechanical engineering, industrial design, or a related field.
Minimum 3 years’ experience in product design, preferably in industrial or instrumentation sectors.
Advanced SolidWorks proficiency (modeling, assemblies, documentation).
Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes, including plastic injection molding and die-casting.
Experience with rapid prototyping and functional testing.
Strong communication and collaboration skills.
A proactive mindset with the ability to work independently and within cross-functional teams.
Experience with electrical, electronics, vibration, or sensing equipment is a bonus.
