We are now seeking a senior management accountant to join us on a 12-month fixed-term contract to play a pivotal role in delivering timely, accurate financial and non-financial information that supports HomeStart’s strategic objectives.

Impact & Influence

As a key member of our finance leadership team, you'll:

Prepare and analyse monthly management accounts, including journal entries and month-end activities

Deliver insightful variance analysis and performance reporting to drive business improvements

Support budgeting, forecasting, and business partnering across cost centers.

Provide financial insights for capital expenditure decisions and project reporting

Ensure compliance with accounting standards, government regulations, and internal policies

Identify and implement process improvements in management accounting and reporting

Liaise with key internal and external stakeholders, including executive leadership, auditors, and government agencies.

Your Expertise

As an accomplished management accounting professional, you will bring

5+ years' senior accounting experience (ideally in a Big 4 or large corporate environment)

Professional accounting qualification (CA/CPA)

Solid technical knowledge of Australian accounting standards

Strong commercial acumen and strategic thinking capabilities

A drive for simplicity, continuous improvement, and meaningful contribution.

A collaborative approach and the ability to partner with diverse stakeholders

Experience in treasury, banking, or mortgage lending (desirable).

Exposure to BI tools such as Power BI, SQL, or advanced Excel (desirable).
