The Catholic Education Diocese of Bathurst (CEDB) is seeking a proactive and skilled HR Services Manager to lead our HR Services team, delivering high-quality HR support across approximately 2,000 employees in 33 schools. This permanent, full-time opportunity is ideal for an HR professional who can confidently manage complex HR matters, oversee operational HR delivery, and drive continuous improvement.

About the role

Reporting to the Head of HR, Risk & WHS, the HR Services Manager provides leadership and oversight of the HR Services team, ensuring the smooth delivery of HR operational and transactional services. This includes managing HR processes, developing team capability, providing expert HR advice, and supporting system-wide initiatives and improvements.

In this role, you will:

Lead and develop the HR Services team to ensure excellence in service delivery

Oversee contract management, employee documentation, and HRIS accuracy

Manage HR reporting and metrics, identifying opportunities for continuous improvement

Collaborate with Payroll and Talent Acquisition teams to ensure seamless operations

Provide expert advice on employment conditions, staffing allocations, and industrial matters

Lead the annual staffing process in collaboration with the CEDB Staffing Committee

Review and improve HR policies, processes, and automation opportunities

Support and educate key stakeholders, including school principals, on HR services and compliance

About you (Selection Criteria)

We are looking for an experienced HR leader who can align with the following:

Demonstrates a commitment to the values and ethos of Catholic education

Has strong experience in HR leadership, team management, and operational HR delivery

Provides high-level HR advice on industrial relations, employment conditions, and HR systems

Demonstrates excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage complex queries and competing priorities

Has well-developed interpersonal and communication skills, with a proactive and solutions-focused approach

Brings expertise in HRIS and reporting systems (experience with Empower or PageUp is highly regarded)

Shows a commitment to continuous improvement, innovation, and best practices in HR services

Holds or is eligible to hold a valid Employee Working with Children Check

Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Business, or a related field (essential)
