Your Responsibilities
As the Cultural Lead, you’ll guide how 668 Care shows up in the community—respectfully, meaningfully, and always with mob.
Build trusted partnerships with Elders, ACCHOs, health services, and schools
Host yarning circles, info sessions, and community gatherings about the NDIS
Support Aboriginal participants and families to navigate the system with confidence
Provide cultural mentoring and advice to our team and senior management
Represent 668 Care at PHN, LAC, hospital, and community forums
Co-design materials, service approaches, and quality improvement with mob
Deliver cultural safety training across the workforce
Who You Are
This is an identified position open to Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander applicants only, under Section 50(d) of the Equal Opportunity Act.
You are respected in your community, known for your leadership, and passionate about supporting others.
You bring:
Strong connections in Bundaberg, Hervey Bay, Maryborough, or nearby communities
Existing relationships with organisations such as Gidji Cafe, local ACCHOs, youth orgs
Experience in community health, engagement, or human services
Ability to work independently, speak confidently, and walk with purpose
Driver’s license and willingness to travel (including rural communities)
Checks Required (or willingness to obtain):
National Police Check
QLD Blue Card
NDIS Worker Screening Check
